One of our specialties here at Infonitum is e-mail. We create the content and even the strategy behind highly successful e-mail campaigns. Whether your organization is generating its own content or you want to take advantage of already-existing newsletters, e-mail marketing and advertising is a very cost-effective way to market to the audiences you want to reach.
We’re really good at e-mail marketing and advertising here at Infonitum. A newsletter produced by company president Bob Woods was cited in the book Effective E-Mail Marketing by Herschell Gordon Lewis (see link below).

E-Mail Advertising
You don’t need to produce a unique newsletter to take advantage of marketing via e-mail. In fact, advertising in existing e-mail newsletters is a great way to quickly attract a wider audience than you would likely have in starting your own newsletter from scratch. Depending on the publication, e-mail newsletter advertising can be a less-expensive alternative to other forms of mass marketing, like print, television, radio and so on.
If you’re looking to advertise within an e-mail newsletter that’s not your own, Infonitum can research and write ad copy that will catch the reader’s attention and get them to take whatever action you want them to — most likely, to click through to a Web site or a landing page/microsite constructed specifically for your ad. Don’t have a Web site, landing page or microsite? We can help there as well.
And if you don’t know where to advertise, Infonitum will research the market you want to target, and find the highest-performing vehicles for your message. We can even negotiate rates for your advertising placements.
Please note that there are differences between e-mail marketing and e-mail advertising. One may be better than the other for you and your company — or maybe both can work for your needs. We can also research and source e-mail address lists for you to purchase. Contact us to discuss the nuts and bolts behind these three strategies.
Work Examples
Project Type: Full E-Mail Newsletter
Throughout his journalism career, Infonitum President Bob Woods edited and created content for many different newsletters for targeted audiences, including ones for high-tech executives and workers (Washtech.com, which used to be part of Washingtonpost.com), Internet marketing professionals (NewMedia.com, which was discontinued by Jupitermedia), optical-networking professionals (OpticallyNetworked.com, now a part of Enterprise Networking Planet), and instant-messaging pros (InstantMessagingPlanet.com). Examples of Bob’s newsletters (all open in new windows):
- Washtech.com Daily Newsletter (via OnlineMarketingToday.com)
- NewMedia Insider Report (note that this goes to a preview at Google, where an example of the newsletter is actually in the book Effective E-Mail Marketing by Herschell Gordon Lewis)
Project Type: E-Mail Reminder
For eCREsystems’ Sibdu commercial real-estate social network, we created a series of e-mail reminders about the network and the services it will provide. These reminders kept the Sibdu brand in front of its members, built awareness of the site, and encouraged members to pass along the newsletter to other interested parties. The e-mails themselves were very simple and clean, which echos the site’s Web 2.0 style.

Project Type: E-Mail Advertising
For eCREsystems’ Sibdu, we worked with a third-party designer to create an ad that ran for eight weeks in Bisnow Real Estate, a DC-area e-mail newsletter that focuses on commercial real-estate news. We negotiated a full package with Bisnow that included the ad package, mentions within editorial content, and a sponsorship of its “35 Under 35″ annual event. Over the eight-week run, the ad and the editorial mentions generated more than 200 sign-ups for the Sibdu network.
